Greece Day 6: Postcard from Perissa Beach

Perissa is a nice little surprise.

It wasn’t even on our original itinerary. But after the Red Beach of Akrotiri, hiking 8 hours from Fira to Oia, and cruising across 4 Santorini islands, this is the much needed break before we ended our Santorini journey.

So when we saw rows and rows of umbrellas stretching in Perissa, we were like… “whoaaaa… this place looks so relaxing!”

Perissa Beach, Santorini, Greece

Perissa is known for its distinctive “black sandy beach” as the result of volcanic explosion. The sand is very fine and slips through gently as you dips your hands into the water.

On top of that, the grandiose sight of rocky mountain Mesa Vouno which decorated the coastline is quite a sight to behold.

Perissa’s beauty is so understated, but it’s a memorable place to end our Santorini trip on a good note.

Antío, Santorini!

What’s your favorite place to relax in Santorini?
